10 mirror swings at home, one cue per round, no ball.
Your job today
Stand in front of a mirror at home. Take 10 slow swings. Each round you only think about ONE thing.
What good looks like: Finish in the same balanced spot every single rep.
Why it matters: Your brain learns the swing in slow motion, not at game speed. This is the cheat code pros use in the off-season.
How it works
Player stands in front of a mirror at home (or with parent watching) and takes 10 dry swings, focusing on one mechanical cue per round (load, stride, finish). No bat-on-ball; foot speed controlled.

Setup
- Clear a 6x6 area
- Stand sideways to mirror
Run the drill
- 10 dry swings focusing on one cue
- Rest 20s
- Repeat with new cue
Coaching cues
- Smooth, don’t wreck the living room
- Same finish every time
Common mistakes
- Going full speed in tight space
- Changing cue mid-round
Scoring
Track rounds completed (count). On-track when at or above 3.
Adjust it
Make it easier
- easier: Use a dowel instead of a bat
Make it harder
- intermediate: Add a slow-motion video review after each round
Variations
- Eyes-closed finish: Take the swing, close eyes, hold finish 3s
Safety
- STOP_ON_PAIN: Distinguish acceptable muscle soreness from joint pain or severe muscle ache. Any pain, pop, or possible injury must be reported to a parent, coach, or trusted adult, and the activity stopped immediately. Any sign of illness or injury must be evaluated before returning.
