Set Feet, Set Hands, Swing (Tee, 6U)
Beginner tee hitting built on three setup checkpoints and a balanced finish.
Your job today
Three steps before you swing: set your feet, set your hands, bat ready. Then hit the ball off the tee and finish balanced.
What good looks like: Quiet feet, good contact, and you don’t fall over on the finish.
Why it matters: Strong, still feet are where every good swing starts. Learn the setup now and hitting gets easier every year.
How it works
First hitting drill for the youngest players, from Baseball BC 6U. Coach demos and players mimic three checkpoints — 'set your feet' (strong legs), 'set your hands', 'bat position' — then take 5 swings off a tee with a balanced follow-through ('squish the bug'). Foam/plastic bats only at 6U; bat safety: only swing at the tee, carry the bat by the barrel.
